Westview Homeowners Association – Board Of Directors Meeting

January 16, 2007

Present: Karla Koles, Chris Allsbrooks, Barry Douglas, Mike Dempsey, Kim Dempsey, Perry Price, Mohamed Shameem

Meeting called to order: 7: 30pm

Meeting adjourned: 8:45pm

Old Business

Budget was approved last month. Everyone should have gotten a copy of the budget in the mail.

Barry will talk to Carolyn to see if she turned the Post Office Box to Bader. This will allow them to get all bills.

New Business

Electric system at the front wall was damaged when Verizon was working. This has caused some shorts to the electrical conduit, which causes the lights to short frequently.

We will give the info to DH Bader about other possible problems from when Verizon was doing construction. Kim Dempsey has the phone # for a contact at Verizon that said to contact them in the spring if there are problems with sprinklers, etc from them digging. Kim Dempsey also has the name of the foreman from the Verizon contractors who is responsible for all of the work they were doing. Karla will pass the info on to DH Bader. If anyone experiences a problem, they should call Verizon themselves, and then call Bader if they need more assistance. In the Bowie newsletter, there is contact info about problems homeowners may have from Verizon installing cable lines.

Need to elect a new President

Barry formally resigned as VP. Karla Koles nominated Barry to be the new President. Perry Price seconded. All present were in favor.

Mike Dempsey was nominated as VP by Karla Koles. It was seconded by Chris Allsbrooks. All present were in favor.

Schedule for the next year

HOA Board meets every third month on the 2^rd Tuesday at 7:30pm

should an issue come up, Barry can call a special Board meeting

March 13, 2007, Tuesday.

The next meeting will be held at 14007 Westview Forest Drive/Dempsey res.

June 12, 2007, Tuesday.

This meeting will be held at 5321 Lakevale Terrace/Allsbrooks residence

September 11, Tuesday. Location TBD

December 4, 2007. Location TBD

Website

The website has not been working in th last week. We will contact Dennis about this because a lot of homeowners depend on the website to get updated info.

Yard sale

It was a big success last year having it the first weekend in May. There was a lot of traffic, and many of the homeowners participated. Also, this was a different day than Olde Stage, which we have usually scheduled on the same day in the past years.

Neighborhood watch

This was discussed. We may try to start this up again. If we cannot get a commitment for a Neighborhood Watch, we may try to start our own volunteers. Check with PG police about this.

Chris will contact PG County police to see what regulations we need to be concerned with to start a neighborhood watch, or if we don't have the commitment, starting something smaller ourselves.

No Outlet Sign

We may want to revisit putting a sign up that says No Outlet after Lakeford Lane.

Homeowners Survey

We discussed doing a survey either as a single sheet or something on the website to see what the homeowners want and expect from the HOA.

Perry, Mohamed, and Mike volunteered to get the survey together. Ask about the block party.

Block Party for the Westview Community

Would like to start doing the Block Party again. Looking for someone to plan and organize. Was a lot of fun for the homeowners, lots of games and fun for the kids.

Streetlights

There are streetlights that are out. These are the responsibility of BGE, but since we live in the City Of Bowie, we need to call them(Public Works Department), and they will coordinate with BGE. Can get info from www.cityofbowie.org

Suggestion

Talk to the Spring Meadows about playground that the developments can share.
